Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program is offering $1000 for full time students with a minimum of a 2.8 GPA who have taken the ACT.

Santa Cruz Elks Lodge Deadline: 12/05/14

Santa Cruz Elks Lodge has six scholarships available.  There is a first, second and third place for both a boy and a girl.  Total scholarships awarded are $2400.  These students then go on to compete in the District contest, onto the State and then on to the National competition.  Many students from Santa Cruz Lodge have won $800 and $1,000 state awards.  The Elks Natiiional Most Valuable Students can win up to $15,000 a year for four years.

Flight Training Scholarship - Deadline: 12/31/14

$1000 scholarship being offered to a female working towards earning either a private pilot certificate or an advanced rating.  Applicants must be female living within Santa Cruz or Monterey Counties.  The successful applicant will be selected by the judges based on commitment to aviation, financial need and eligibility.

BAYWATCH - Deadline: 01/31/15

Bay Federal is offering a $1500 scholarship for students advancing on to higher education in fall.  Applicant must be a Bay Federal member in good standing.  A 3 minute video is part of the application process.  Check out their website for some video ideas.

The SportQuest Playing With Purpose Scholarship Program is a national program that honors and encourages high school student athletes who excel athletically, academically and have committed their life to following Christ.  Through scholarships, college exposure, community and national recognition, and more, we want to see them succeed and make a difference in this world.

PG&E Employee Resource Groups Deadline: 02/09/15

As PG&E employees actively engage in the communities in which they work and live, many do so through our various Employee Resource Groups. These groups not only help bring our employees together, but provide an essential bridge of communication to our customers, regardless of culture, age, gender or other defining elements. As part of the support these groups provide to the communities we serve, ERGs offer scholarship opportunities for those pursuing higher education.

eQuality Scholarship Collaborative Deadline: 02/09/15

$6000 scholarships available to recognize the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender community.  Applicants must be a central or northern California resident and plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution.

Jimmie Cox Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: 02/25/15

The $4000 scholarship is awarded to a student planning on attending college and majoring in agriculture.  Student and/or guardian must live in Santa Cruz County or be a member of the Santa Cruz County Farm Bureau.  Scholarship is allocated to student for 4 years.

Mae B Wilkin/Phyrne Lorenz Scholarship Deadline: 02/28/15

The Native Daughters of the Golden West Santa Cruz Parlor are offering four $5000 scholarships being awarded to US citizens who are attending school in Santa Cruz County.   Students need to have been accepted or anticipate being accepted into an accredited four-year college or university.  Gender is not a consideration in this scholarship.  Applicant must have an overall GPA of at least a 3.5, completed the SAT or ACT, supply two letters of recommendation, supply an official transcript and complete an essay and autobiography.  For more information, please see Amy Paul in the College and Career Center.

 

Sons of Italy Western Foundation Deadline: 03/01/15

The Sons of Italy Western Foundation and the Grand Lodge of California, Order Sons of Italy in America, are proud to provide college scholarships to eligible students. These scholarships range from $500.00 to $5,000.00. Additionally, Italian Language Study Grants are available for a one-month complete immersion course in Italian language at an Italian College.

Cabrillo College American Dream Scholarship and Commitment Scholarship Deadline: 03/02/15

Cabrillo College is offering two scholarships.  One is for ethnic minority and one for making a commitment to attend Cabrillo College.  The scholarships are for $500 each.  By completing the attached form you are automatically considered for both.

Frame My Future Contest Deadline: 03/03/15

$6000 total will be awarded to 5 students (one student will receive $1000 for themselves and $1000 for the school they are attending) who enter a photograph, collage, poem, drawing, painting, graphic design piece, short typed explanation, or anything you can create into an image.  The entry must be easy to view and read online.  Students who enter must plan on attending college full time for the 2015/2016 school year and be a legal US citizen.

Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County Deadline: 03/08/15

9 scholarships with 15 awardees.  Awards range from $500-$2500 with several renewable up to 3 years.  Students encouraged to apply for all scholarships that they qualify for.

The Rotary Club Deadline: 03/13/15

The Rotary Club is awarding five $500 scholarships.  Student requirements are that the student must be a resident of Scotts Valley or attend Scotts Valley High School.  Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0,  participate in at least one school sponsored and one non school extracurricular activity (e.g., sports, band, volunteer work, student council, newspapers, clubs) and consideration is given to financial need but is not a requirement.  

An application is considered complete if the following documents are submitted by the deadline:

1) A letter of interest from the student addressed to the Rotary Club of Scotts Valley.  The letter should include information about college plans and goals, with a minimum of 250 words and a maximum of 750.

2) A copy of the current high school transcript

3) A summary of awards, achievements, activities, and community involvement

4) A statement regarding financial need, if that is a consideration  

There will be an awards dinner where the award winners will be recognized on April 13th at the Scotts Valley Hilton.

Italian Catholic Federation Deadline: 03/15/15

I.C.F. is a National Roman Catholic Fraternal Organization composed of persons of Italian ancestry.  It is the belief of I.C.F. that through dedication to the education of our young people, and our interest in providing financial assistance to graduation seniors entering college, that together we can help our youth meet the challenges of tomorrow.

Omega Nu Deadline: 03/25/15

Omega Nu is offering scholarships for Santa Cruz area students who are attending a CSU, UC, or Junior College in California this fall.  Students must have a GPA of 3.2 (or be college potential according to a counselor).  Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation, a short biography explaining circumstances and a recent photograph.  This scholarship is need based so some personal and financial information is needed.  Top applicants will be interviewed May 5th and May 6th.  Come see Amy Paul in the College and Career Center for an application.

I Can Afford College - 30 Seconds to College Deadline: 03/31/15

Are you going to a Community College in Fall?  Here is a FUN way to win a new car or scholarships in the amount of $1000, $500 and $250. You need to create your own version of a video to the "Make It Now" rap song, along with a few guidelines found on the website.  Voting takes place in April through Twitter and Facebook.

San Jose State University - Deadline: 03/31/15

Offered to Santa Cruz County residents only.  $500 - $2000 renewable scholarships available.  Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA, two letters of recommendation, evidence of school and/or community involvement. among a few other criteria.

Kiwanis of the Valleys Deadline: 03/31/15

Kiwanis of the Valleys is the Kiwanis Club for both Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley.  Kiwanis are offering 2 scholarships this year.  

Mike Smith Kiwanis Scholarship:  Offer financial assistance to seniors moving on to post secondary education who demonstrate quality leadership, community service and civic values, both on their high school campus and out in their respective communities of residence.  High academic achievement is not necessarily a requirement.

Joseph A. Grabill Scholarship: Offer financial assistance to seniors moving on to post secondary education who demonstrate exemplary academic and civic values.

The Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) Santa Cruz Chapter Deadline: 04/01/15

MOAA is offering $500 - $1000 scholarships to students entering into college and have ties to Santa Cruz County.  Preference will be given to: 1) students who will pursue a miliary career, preferably as an officer, 2) students whose parents, grandparents or siblings have served or are serving in the military and 3) students who are closely related to a MOAA Santa Cruz member.

California Women for Agriculture Deadline:  04/03/15

California Women for Agriculture is offering 2 scholarships.  The first is for women who either work as a farm laborer or have at least one parent or spouse employed as a farm laborer.  The second scholarship is for women pursuing a degree in agriculture.

Youth on Course Deadline:  04/06/15

Youth on Course is offering more than 40 college scholarships to graduating senior with awards ranging from $4000 to $10,000.  Deserving students who will attend a four year college or university and are both need and merit based with a minimum 3.0 GPA are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to students with an active interest in golf, but it is not mandatory for consideration.

Andrew H. Malatesta Agriculture Science Scholarship Deadline:  04/17/15

The Sons of Italy Watsonville Lodge #2016 , Andrew H. Malatesta Scholarship are offering a scholarship for students pursuing studies in the field of Agriculture Science.  Applicants must be of Italian heritage or related to a member of Sons of Italy Lodge #2016, live within Santa Cruz County and have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

CalTrans District 5 - Deadline:  04/17/15

CalTrans is offering $750 scholarships for seniors who plan to pursue a career in transportation.  The field of transportation is broad and could potentially employ Engineers, Transportation Planners, Environmental Planners, Archeologists, Land Surveyors, Mechanics, Electricians and many more.  Students must intend to enroll in a community college, university or trade school in California to be considered.

Hellenic Cultural Institute, California Central Coast Deadline: 04/21/15

This scholarship (which will be as high as $4000) is being offered to students going to either a two or four year college who demonstrate an interest in the area of Hellenic History and Civilization, by way of Greek literature, drama, poetry, and the arts, as well as other aspects of Greek culture.  Applicants must have a 3.0 or higher GPA, have exemplary classroom conduct, complete the application and write a minimum 600 word essay on "Ancient Greek Mythology is Universal.  Choose Three Greek Myths and Describe their Contribution to Present Day Attitudes."

Prevedelli Farms Scholarship Deadline: 04/24/15

Students and/or legal guardian must live in Santa Cruz County.  Selection based on students scholastic record, agricultural potential, special activities, personal history, letters of recommendation and financial need.  This is a scholarship for a student majoring in agriculture.

Insurance Professionals of Monterey Bay Deadline: 04/30/15

A $1000.00 scholarship is being offered to a high school senior who plans on continuing their education after high school. Any student may apply for this scholarship regardless of gender or anticipated field of study. A minimum 2.75 gpa is required.

Wayne Richards Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: 04/30/15

For the  sixteenth consecutive year, this scholarship is offered to varsity student athletes from a high school in Santa Cruz County.  You must have a minimum 3.0 gpa, intend to enroll full time in fall of 2015 at a university, college or trade school, show evidence of involvement in school or community affairs and be a citizen of the United States of America.  There will be 4 scholarships awarded.  One to a female student-athlete for $1000, one to a male student-athlete for $1000 and two additional scholarships for $500 each that may go to either a female or male student-athlete.

Big Stick Surfing Association Deadline: 05/01/15

This scholarship will be awarded to students who demonstrate scholastic ability, a commitment to ocean sports, the preservation of the ocean environment and ecology, good citizenship, and sportsmanship.  Scholarship amounts awarded range between $50-$500.

2D3D Cleveland Institute of Art Deadline: 01/30/15

CIA presents 2D3D, a premier national art and design competition for high school students.  In its first two years, 2D3D attracted thousands of entries from high school students throughout the US.  Winners in four categories - craft, design, integrated media and visual arts- came away with cash prizes, generous scholarships and high quality art supplies.

University of Dayton Deadline: 01/31/15

University of Dayton is offering a $10,000 ($2,500 per year for 4 years) for the Leadership in Service Scholarship.  The student chosen should have an innate desire for personal development and is committed to service within his or her school, church or community.  Last year, more than 400 students from 37 states were admitted to the University as part of the Leadership in Service program.  To make this college even more affordable, students who visit campus and file the FAFSA prior to March 1, 2015, may receive up to $4,000 for their textbooks (over four years). Marist Deadline: 02/01/15

The Technology Scholarships allow Marist to provide an unmatched opportunity for students interested in majoring in Computer Science or Infomation Technology and Systems.  This program will contribute to the development of IT specialists who will be well-prepared to meet the overwhelming demand expected in this field.  Scholarship recipients will receive a full four-year tuition, room and board as well as other benefits.

P.E.O. Deadline: 02/14/15

Awarded at time of acceptance for admission, we will review ACT/SAT score and cumulative high school GPA to determine qualification for an academic scholarship. Academic scholarships are automatically renewed for the second year, if the renewal requirements as stated below are met. If a student chooses to remain at Cottey to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree, these scholarships would be available for four years.
