Parent Club


Enhance the quality of education and well-being of students, while supporting staff and teachers.


Supports students in all aspects of life, including academics, arts, extracurricular activities and administrative needs.  Through volunteerism and financial support, the Parent Club accomplishes the following:

  • Grants to teachers and counselors for classroom supplies and equipment
  • Library support
  • Visual/Theatre arts support
  • Training and testing assistance for IB Program

The Executive Board of the Parent Club recommends the allocation of funds raised with the input of the administration.

2018/19 Parent Club Meetings

The SVHS Parent Club board will meet on the third Tuesday of each month.

•  Conduct meetings of the Parent Club; represent the Parent Club at school and public functions; delegate duties to other Board officers, committees and parent volunteers; ensure that the Parent Club operates efficiently and addresses the concerns and needs of the administration, staff, teachers, students and parents of SVHS.


Vice President of Communications/Public Relations

Barbara Imbert,

•  Prepare and disseminate publicity about Parent Club and SVHS activities and events to News from the Nest, Scotts Valley Press-Banner, Santa Cruz Sentinel, Scotts Valley Patch, Scotts Valley City Hall, Chamber of Commerce, service organizations and other media sources, parents and businesses; ensure Parent Club SVHS web presence is current.



Jane McElrone,

•  Maintain the financial books and records of the Parent Club, including day-to-day management of cash (payments/receipts); present the current budget at meetings; direct the drafting of the annual budget; help ensure that the Parent Club is aware of its financial commitments.



Rocco Chappie,

•  Attend all meetings of the Executive Board, keep an accurate record of board meeting proceedings and approved expenditures, be prepared to refer to minutes of six previous meetings, and post meeting minutes to website. Provide parliamentary procedure guidance as appropriate. Chair the bylaws committee and review bylaws and standing rules annually.

Vice President of Fundraising


•  Plan and oversee fundraising activities involving local businesses, academic departments, teachers, students, parents and the general public, helping ensure that the Parent Club can meet its budgetary obligations. All Parent Club Board members assist this vice president to create fun and successful fundraisers.
